Our clients often rely on egg, sperm, and embryo donation to build their families. Such a donation is a beautiful gift. From a legal perspective, it is also a complex area. We help clients negotiate agreements that clearly define parental rights, ownership of the gametes and/or embryos and manage expectations about future contact.

Our work must also protect the future child, a donor-conceived person who is not a party to the agreement. Based on the best practices shared by both the donor-conceived and mental health professional communities, we only draft and review agreements when the donor(s) is known or knowable. At this time, we limit our donor agreement practice to agreements governed under Ohio and Michigan law.
